Kenya: El Molo women

The El Molo tribe today is the smallest ethnic group in Kenya. They live by the south-western shores of Lake Turkana. They number a mere 50, but those mixed with Turkana and Samburu blood, number some 500 in all.As their blood is getting mixed with the neighbouring tribes, their customs are such a mixture that it is very difficult to sort them out.

Samburu tribe spreads over an area of about 29000 sq.km. A nomadic Maa-speaking tribe mainly living in Maralal and the border zones of Marsabit District. Unlike the war-like Maasai,whose culture heritage and language they share, the Samburu do not adopt an aggressive lifestyle.
